I don’t often get to see my children sleeping.

Some of our friends go into their kid’s rooms every night to check on them and kiss them on the head, but we are not one of those families.  We do nothing that might possibly disturb their sleep – especially if it is just for our own viewing pleasure.

Some people sleep with their children so that they can glance over at any given moment in the night and bask in the preciousness of their sleeping offspring.  We are not one of those families.  We do nothing to disturb our own sleep – because we’re selfish like that.

So it is a thrill to catch a glimpse of their sleep – and it makes it all the more endearing due to the fact that it is such a rare sight.

So this morning when I woke up gloriously late in an empty house and saw Chris’ tweet about waking the children to take them to the football game,  I absolutely swooned over this photo of Noah.

Noah Sleeping Baby Mould

There is just nothing more loveable than that pose, is there?

So cute.  So cuddleable.  So kissable.  So…

Until Chris’ Aunt Kitty pointed out The Great Similarity.

To my post yesterday.

Noah and the Baby Mould

My son IS the Sleeping Baby Mould*.

So much for enjoying my sleeping baby photo.  Now all I can think about is whether he’s butter pecan or vanilla on the inside.

  1. What a precious picture! I so wish I could have a picture like that! A lovely photo of Victoria in her crib!! Actually, a picture of Victoria in her crib SLEEPING! And what is that in his mouth?? A pacifier?!?! Pure bliss! (Can you tell that I am NOT one of those “selfish” moms? I sure wish I was!)

  2. I adore Noah’s picture but that one on the left really does give me the creeps bad. My mind does not wrap around eating a cake that looks like a baby. An animal cake ok but a baby? hebegebees. Just think if Noah was Rocky Road, I think that may stop my desire for Rocky Road.

  3. Yesterdays post made me wonder if I could pull off pretending to be pregnant, then making a red velvet baby cake and inviting people over to meet the baby…only to cut into and eat him!!

    …yeah, I know, I’m a horrible person. :P

  4. Absolutely hilarious!! I love my sleeping babies…but now I’m going to have to make a point not to look at them while sleeping for awhile just so that I don’t envision my own children as a cupcake topper!

  5. LOL, that is so funny! We feel the exact same way about our kids. We don’t disturb their sleep for anything! That’s one reason I love the video monitor. They look so sweet while they’re asleep.

That baby cake mold or mould* :) is CREEPY!!! I can’t believe anyone would make that cake and especially eat it! I have never seen anything like that before! Crazy.
