Ali and I excitedly went to the hospital today to meet her new baby cousin, Tessa Kate!
This is the second time in under 2 months that we have sat in that very same waiting room in anticipation of a Tessa being born, of course. So Ali knew the drill and was ready to meet COUSIN Tessa!
When we got the news, Ali did a few cheerleader “YAY”s for baby Tessa Kate:
Shortly after she was born but before we got to meet Tessa Kate, the rest of the family arrived, including newly Big Brother’ed Eli:
Ali waited with Mammaw:
And Eli called all his friends to tell them the news with his Granddads:
When we got to go back, Eli’s initial reaction was a smile,
Very, VERY quickly followed by screams of protest, when it sunk in what just happened here.
In fact, he wasn’t happy until he ousted Tessa Kate from her center of attention and got to crawl up and give his Mommy a huge hug!
Meanwhile, Ali found an out-of-the-way spot to sit and clap half-heartedly. 
(She may have been clapping because it wasn’t HER but Eli that was getting the shock of a lifetime.)
Mommy, Daddy, and Baby Tessa Kate are doing great!
(And Lindsay looks amazing considering that she was super duper brave and had NO pain meds whatsoever – I’m impressed!!)
Tessa was born around 1:30pm, at 7 lbs, 5 ozs (ironically the exact same weight as Baby Tessa Faith) and 19 1/2 inches. She was very awake, alert, and not fussy:

Eli refused to even look at her for the rest of the time we were there. Every time he sensed her presence, he would turn his head as fast as he could:
But he’ll come around. In a day or decade or two.
But, needless to say, the rest of us are completely thrilled, and excited to tell her
Ahhh how sweet she is. I have a feeling my grandson is going to do the same thing when his little brother comes in September. lol
Tessa is so cute though. I loved Ali's little "Yay" cheer. lol

Ali is turning into a card making machine…no one eyed snowwoman for baby Tessa Kate?!

She is beautiful!!! I LOVE the hair sticking up all over the place. It's adorable! My kids were all bald.

lol So cute! Rayna wasn't sure what to think of Xander when he was born too. But it didn't take long for her to take him under her wing. :)

I need pain meds just thinking about her delivering without them. Ouch.

And… I think I just look FANTASTIC in all those pics. Thanks….. :). I think you should post your beautimous immediate post-partum pics. I know they're your fave and it would just be fair, right? ;).
And, I'm not that brave. I most definitely was begging for pain meds by the end, but my militant yet awesome coaches (J.C., Rachel G.) wouldn't let me :). I'm super glad now, but it was rough in there for a little while.

Thanks for posting about Tessa's arrival. Ali cheer and card were adorable. Hopefully Eli will warm up to the idea of being a big brother.
Lindsay does look great considering and I can't believe the strength it took to not use meds. My sister also was induced and also did it without meds but I had always heard the pain was twice a bad if you are induced so if that is true these two are amazing women and better than me.
I'm so impressed with Lindsay too! she's a better woman than me! :)
