Newbie Revealed.

in Kids: The Experience.,Pregnancy: The Psychoses.

I promised Ali that she could tell all of you Newbie’s secret…

What…you can’t read that? Have YOU tried to get a three year old to hold a sign and smile at the same time?

Okay…let’s try again…

IMG_9879

It is indeed a boy!!!

But don’t mistake her happy expressions for being thrilled with the outcome… that pitchfork-shaped Y was her special touch.

She’s actually quite busy plotting as to how to turn Newbie into a girl.

“When can we go see Newbie on the tv again where she is a girl?”

“We can’t, because Newbie is a boy.”

“But WHEN will she be a girl??!!”

“Um…she won’t.”

“But I want her to be a girl!!!”

I also let Ali call my Mom to tell her the news, and apparently either my Mom is getting quite hard of hearing in her ancientness, or my iPhone speakerphone isn’t so great after all.

Mom: “Hello?”

Ali: “I have a baby brother!!”

Mom: “You got a baby Rabbit?? Seriously?!?!”

Me: “Tell her again, Ali.”

Ali: “I have a baby sister!!”

Mom: “You do!?!??!”

Me, cutting in panickingly, “NOO!!! Ali, tell her right!!”

Ali: “I have a baby brother!!!…….okay I’m done now.”

But despite Ali’s unsureness of a baby of the male gender, I’m excited! It will be a new experience, and I’ve always heard that little boys have a special connection with their Mothers.

On second thought, maybe THAT’S why Ali’s not too excited…jealousy is an ugly thing.

Congrats! I'm so excited to have a nephew and I KNOW Eli will be glad to have a boy cousin to play with. And it's true, there's something special about that mommy-son relationship (and the mommy-daughter relationship, too, but you already have that! :) )

Move over dolls and princesses, trucks and tractors are coming through! :)

Congrats! So excited for all of you. My daughter was less than thrilled when we found out that my last was going to be a boy, to the point of not even wanting to LOOK at him for several weeks after he was indeed born a boy. He grew on her though and now they are attached at the hip most days. Here's hoping Ali warms up to the idea of a brother soon!

Congratulations! I have one of each and I can confirm that boys are equally awesome. My little guy is four and regularly tells his daddy he loves him, "but not as much as I love mommy." We've even had to explain several times that he cannot marry me when he grows up. Boys are definitely not as fun to dress and I imagine I'll be closer to my daughter (who's still a baby) someday when they're both grown, but for now it's pretty nice being adored :)

Congrats! I am still on my streak of being unable to guess the gender of an unborn baby correctly. Having one of each is awesome! It's the best of both worlds…

How exciting to have one of each (at least for now). Ali will just love her new baby brother. Maybe she'll think he is a "special" Christmas present just for her.

Anyways…CONGRATULATIONS to all of you.

Yay for a boy!

Can't wait to read about the upcoming name discussions/arguments :)
But, whatever his name is, I just want you to know that it will be a wonderful, unique name that fits him exactly…isn't that what I'm supposed to say? ;)

My nephew told everyone his mom was having a puppy, and no one could convince him otherwise. She was scheduled for a c-section, and he faithfully counted down the last days. When we took him to the hospital to meet his new sister he asked where his new puppy was. He was three at the time and cried all the way home when he finally realized his mom had a baby, and not a puppy!

Congratulations!!! I'm sorry Ali isn't more excited…she's too funny! I'm sure she'll love having a little brother once he gets here! Maybe she can help look through names to get excited about him.

T SOOO wants a boy. Actually he really wants TWO boys. So I'm really hoping our next two are boys, b/c I've always planned on four kids and no more. :) I can totally see us with all girls though. I'm not sure I'd know what to do with a boy!

Congratulations again!!! One of each! So fun!

Praise God for the gift of sons! We had a boy after a string of four girls. I, quite honestly, wasn't sure that I'd like having a boy. I mean, my girls are so great! But, let me tell you, this boy thing is SO*MUCH*FUN!!! Entirely different creatures they are. I'm sure that he and Ali will have a blast together. Congratulations!

Ki was at Ella's US and said, "But I wanted a brother!" Then he would tell people he was having a brother. Occasionally he'll still cal her a boy in public. Not sure if it's a slip up now, of if he's being goofy cuz he ADORES his baby sister a.k.a. his "sweet girlie"!
