Update: Due to significant changes in the company and a terrible downward spiral in denim quality, I no longer recommend shopping through Vault Denim. I now buy all of my jeans through Nordstrom Rack’s app, HauteLook, which regularly features my favorite brands of designer jeans at half the cost. I highly recommend it! My current favorite brands are Joe’s Jeans, Genetic Denim, Hudson Jeans, Frankie B, Mother Denim, and 7 for all Mankind.

  1. Rachel, I have been researching Vault denim recently and have been in touch with representative who has been very helpful; but I would love to get your opinion on being a rep. I never, never saw myself in direct sales so I am very hesitant to commit myself to this. On the other hand, I love a good bargain. Thanks for your input.

  2. Hi Rachel, I’m in the same position Julie is. The concept of Vault Denim sounds great, and I’m really interested in becoming a rep. I’ve been researching the company online, but you’re the first person I’ve found who sounds like they’re actually talking about their own experience; everything else has seemed like the same kind of marketing spiel. What I really want is to talk to a real person who is honest about their experience working as a rep. Like you, I never thought I’d be interested in doing home parties, but I too love jeans and it sounds worth it just to get some discount jeans for myself! And if I could make money while having a great time at a party, that would be great too! Please email me, I would love to talk to you! Thanks :)

  3. Hi Rachel! I had never heard of Vault Denim until somebody I know posted your blog on FB tonight. I am interested in possibly hosting a party plus getting more information about being a rep for the company. I live in Austin,Texas. Thank You!
    Rachel

    1. Did you ever actually start working with Vault? I’m in Austin and would love to talk to you if you have! Thanks!

        1. Hi, are you still selling Vault Denim? Can you tell me about your experience? GlassDoor.com reviews from consultants say the company has gone drastically downhill since 2012

          Thank you for any info.

  4. Hey! I have been job searching for quite some time and it is getting to the point where I need a job NOW lol. So I was searching home business opportunities (which I have never seen myself doing before) but this sounds like it really could suit me well. I am a mother and would love as much time with my little boy as possible, not to mention I am in the process of becoming a fashion designer so this would be an excellent opportunity for me to learn marketing and entrepreneurship etc… Thing is I am a little weary. I was hoping you could tell me from your own experiences the positives and negatives? Also how hard to you have to work to make a buck? Problem is i have just moved to a new state and don’t know a ton of people around here so would I be able to use the internet to make sales? Things like that…. I would love it if you could email me.
    Thanks,
    Haley

  5. I would love some more info on this, Jeans are absolutely hard to find and when folks get a good pair they seriously freak out.. can you email me as well with answers to pretty much all the questions asked above.

  6. Interested in being converted…to real jeans!! When is your next party/open house? I live in the Birmingham area. Thanks!

  7. Actually, you mention your willingness to hold a private fitting. Do you know of any consultants in the Kennewick, Washington area who would be willing to do the same? I don’t want to host a party. I just want to buy good jeans.

    1. Your best bet is the Inventory Coordinator in the area, because she’s the one that houses the jeans all the time (like I do), so it’s not as big of a deal to do a private fitting. I’ll email you her information!

  8. Hi I am interested in learning more about vault jeans, I’m actually interested in buying some, hosting a party, and possible the rep opportunity. I’m in Hickory Creek, TX

  9. Rachel

I have a question about jeans. I am petite (5′ 1″) Size 4-8 depending on the brands. I have yet to find a pair of jeans that I love especially after two kids . I have tried so many I am so lost. Any suggestions on brands and styles that would look good?

    Sara

  10. I’m constantly searching for jeans with long inseams…like really long! I usually wear a 36 or 37″ inseam and it’s so hard to find that, even at the Buckle. I would love to look online at The Vault’s selection. Can you help me out? Thanks!

  11. Hi Rachel,

How do I find a Vault consultant in my area (Minneapolis)? I think I would like to host a party (even though I typically avoid in home parties at all costs). This sounds like such a great, fun and relevant thing for ALL women! And now, after reading your article, I know I need to rid my closet of all Gap and O.N. jeans!

  12. Hi,
:) I am interested in being a consultant. I live in Utah. Let me know what I need to do. I am desperate for a good pair of jeans. :) thanks

  13. Hi Rachel:

I read your blog, saw your pictures and really inspired me of wanting to try your jeans. First, I would love to have some information of being a consultant, I live in Vancouver, Washington area and I also would like to see if there’s any consultant I like to host a party with. Thanks.

    Amy

  14. Love your blog! You make me laugh out loud for real! I, too, am interested in hosting a vault denim party in my area and maybe becoming a consultant. Please give me all the info you can! Thanks so much!!

  15. I just found you via pinterest. I’ve recently banished mom jeans from my closet and managed to snag two pair of designer jeans at the thrift store for reasonable prices. I love all the styles at your Vault site, but am worried about how to choose the right size. I’ve never been able to fit well in Jr sizes. Do any of the jeans come in regular women’s sizes?

  16. Hi Rachel,

Love your blog! I have recently been contemplating becoming a vault consultant and I wanted to hear some of your candid and honest feedback and if you have been successful doing it.

    Thanks!!

    1. Hi Taylor!

It’s been a lot of fun! There is a lot of ebb and flow in it – you might have a fabulous party, then not have as good of one. I’ve decided that I prefer to do private fittings over parties, just because I’m not the direct sales type. But the parties can be a lot of fun!

I don’t know how helpful that is, but feel free to ask any questions you have!

      1. You seriously had me laughing out loud with your post on mom jeans. I think I am a victim of ON and Gap and need your help! I would love to come to a party of yours or maybe you can come to my house and host one? I live in Huntsville, AL and can use some serious help, PLEASE! I might also be interested in becoming a consultant or something too. I just love the idea and I have lots of SAHM’s like me around who could use the help too!

  17. Love your blog! It has been a long time since I had a favorite pair of jeans. Would really love to try some vault denim jeans on. Any chance there is a consultant in Richmond, VA?

    Thanks,
    Jennifer

  18. I am in the same predicament as most of these ladies. I would be open to hosting a party in the Dallas area. Are there any consultants in my area as well? Thanks!

  19. You’re in BIRMINGHAM!!! :-) I just happened to find your blog from Pinterest. I’m so excited you are so close!! I’m in north east AL. I need help. I think I might be wearing mom jeans…

  20. Hi there. I just heard about vault through a blog posted on pinterest. It sounds like a great idea. I used the party code you listed but it had expired. Is there any way to look around or getting another code? Thanks!!

  21. Rachel- I am interested in hosting a party and would love to hear more about selling. Can you please email me info? Near Elmira NY.

  22. I have been wearing ON jeans forever, mostly because they are inexpensive, but I don’t want to wear mom jeans anymore! I live near Plano, Tx. Can you send me info on who could do a party or private fitting in the area? Your post was so eye opening! Thanks.

  23. So I’m pretty sure I’ve succumbed to the mom jean virus. Recently have lost a lot of weight and think I can now fit into “cool jeans.” Can you help me find a consultant in my area? I checked the Vault site and had no luck! Thanks a bunch!! I’m in the Inland Empire area of So. CA.

  24. This sounds great! I was just horrified at my reflection in one of my pairs of jeans tonight and then I ironically found your blog. It’s meant to be, right?!? I would love to get some more information on Vault – possbily hosting a party or seeing if there is one nearby that I could attend. I live in Roanoke, VA.

I will definitely be following you blog! Blessings to you!

  25. Hi Rachel,
I would love more info on vault jeans. I live in Austin tx. But haven’t lived here long enoug to know too many people. I would love to make some extra $ without spending to much extra $. And would LOVE to de-momify my jeans!!! Could you send me more info about being a rep…what exactly it entails, about how much $ do you make, how do you find people to throw/host parties? Any other helpful info?
    Thank you
    Hope

  26. Do you know of a place to buy cheap(er) Citizens of Humanity jeans. I borrowed a pair of maternity ones from a friend, and now simply don’t want to take them off! If I feel this awesome in a pair while I’m 7 mo pregnant, I can’t imagine how awesome they must be on my normal self…but $200 is WAY out of my price range for a pair of pants, no matter how awesome.

    1. I haven’t seen any come through Vault, but I’ve gotten a couple of pairs on clearance for $70 at two department stores near me – Saks Fifth Avenue and Belk.

  27. Hi Rachel! You don’t happen to have any idea whether Vault Denim is in Canada, do you? I can’t find info online except a vague rumour that they are…and I want in!

  28. Is Atlanta close enough for you to come out and have a party? If not…I might be interested in becoming a consultant…do you mind sending me info?

    Thanks so much!

    Sonja

    1. Hi Sonja!

I have a TON of people wanting parties in Atlanta, so I’m trying to figure out how I can get over there. It would be better if I had someone on my team that could do all of those parties, though! I have a whole folder of people in Atlanta wanting parties, but right now my Dad is having health problems, so asking them to keep my kids for a weekend is not exactly something I can do.

  29. Hi There!
Sooo are there any reps in Tucson, AZ.? I haven’t seen anyone request a party this far west yet. I might also be interested in becoming a rep.; h0wever, I have 2 toddlers and full time job. Is it worth it? Any insight would be great!

  30. Help! Can you connect me with someone who does this in the Portland (Oregon) area? Thanks so much in advance!

    -M

  31. Hi Rachel!

Are there any consultants in Albuquerque, New Mexico? I would like a private fitting because I have been complaining about how my Old Navy jeans have been loosening the moment I sit down but I cant got to a smaller size or serious muffin top happens and I would like more information about being a consultant.
    Thank you!
    Christy

  32. HELP! I’d love a private fitting but I live in Raleigh, NC. I have 5 kids and a tiny apartment and can’t host a party right now but am desperate to not have mom jeans. Is there anyone in my area?

  36. Hi,
Just read your story about Gap and Old Navy jeans. I wear Old Navy almost exclusively because they seem to be the only brand I can find to fit my long-waisted AND pear-shaped proportions. Would love to transition to better-fitting jeans, but have no idea where to start!?

  37. I would love to host a Vault Jeans show. I live in the Cincinnati area and after three kids continue on the desperate mission to find the ultimate jeans! Looking forward to hearing from you.

  38. hey there, I’m also in b’ham and just now finding your site thru my friend who posted your latest jeans review blog on FB – hilarious and quite helpful I might add! I would love to look into a great fitting pair of jeans especially for my 13 year old daughter – you know, I’m all about buying her a pair before I would get some for myself – sad but true. so, once I get through some PTO meeting this week you will probably be hearing from me! thanks and I love your blog!

  39. I too have been researching vault denim and am hesitant to start direct sales, I hate bothering ppl! But it seems to be not much selling, since the jeans sell themselves :) I am also worried there may not be any inventory in my area (Pittsburgh, PA) is there anyway to check this before putting money down? Thanks and love your blog!

  40. Hey Rachel,
Anyone in Kalamazoo, MI??? After shopping for jeans with two of my closest friends over the weekend I see a true need for this service! In the privacy of your own home, with your best buddies? How perfect is that?! Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks so much!

  41. Hi Rachel,
I have learned so much from your blog, and am interested on hosting a party. Do you have any reps in Minnesota ?

  42. I dread shopping for jeans and now I am dying to try some on!! Do you know if there is a rep in the Palatine, IL area? Can’t wait to hear back from you and I am crossing my fingers there are some reps in my area.

Thank you for giving me hope I can find some jeans I LOVE!!

  43. I am freaking out because I just bought some jeans from old navy and hoping they aren’t mom jeans. I’m only 25 but don’t have any girl friends to shop with. I’d love to have someone help me. I live in riverside, ca (southern ca). Thanks!!!

  44. Hi Rachel,

I came across Vault Denim on Facebook someone sent me invite to an event. I no longer live in that area and it really caught my eye. The last few days I have been do some research and it seems very interested. Like anything else about home base business I worry if this is real or scam. Is there any reps in my area Las Cruces, NM or El Paso, TX? I would like to attend party or have rep come to me for fitting. I love fashion and this would be really fun to do on the side and maybe make a little money.

  45. Are there any Vault Denim reps near Albany, NY? I’m a new mom that doesn’t want to look like a mom!! Your blog is so helpful and a great reference point, but I don’t know where to get started to find the right jeans for me.

  46. Hey Rachel,

So glad I stumbled on your blog during one of my late-night soul searching (surfing?) sessions….I’m located in rural southern Middle Tennessee and am a stay at home mom, 3 year old little girl, 10 month old twins, of of each. My other half’s doing the best he can do, but something’s gotta give….financially, sure; to ensure my sanity…DEFINITELY. I am leery of direct sales to the point of it being neurotic and somewhat ridiculous. That said, Vault Denim caught my eye 8 months ago. For eight months, I have researched, thought about it, worried a fabulous lady named Deena Graham in Nashville to distraction with my rambling questions and remarks, but I can’t get it out of my mind. It’s getting close to Christmas and I’m thinking about just going ahead and taking the plunge because, hey, you don’t know unless you give it a shot. Something that’s strange in my mind is the lack of hard data on the company’s revenues, growth, etc…..and I’ve yet to hear from a consultant that would give me a straight answer regarding what Vault’s done for them in terms of personal satisfaction, what kind of extra income you realistically make, what the jeans in the inventories are like, and whether they think this company’s going places and taking the consultants with them….If you happen to see this message in the next few days, would you please get in touch with me and give me some honest feedback? I’ve got a sponsor already….I only want to talk to someone else because to me, at this point in my life, everything about this is a big deal…I can’t afford to become enthusiastic about something that is going to cause me to fall flat on my face….I can’t afford it in any sense of the word, as my 3 year old and twins take what we have to give after we keep the lights turned on and a roof over our heads. I know there aren’t any guarantees, but it feels right to me in terms of appealing to my interests, attracting the general public in this neck of the woods’ attention (hillbilly country girls loooooove to flaunt brand names and price tags, but more than that, they love being able to feel like they stole them)
I know that’s a bit of a ramble, but if you would get in touch with me, Rachel, I would really be grateful. Thanks and have a great day.

  47. Thanks for your eye-opening articles on ill-fitting jeans! I’m looking for someone I can talk to about a private fitting (or possibly a party) in Lawrence, KS or Frisco, TX. Thanks!

  48. I weigh 88 pounds, and I’m 4′ 11″. I am also 53 yrs of age and can’t not for the life of me find jeans cut high enough at the waist to avoid “trying to look too young.” I need something that will stay on my body as I move and not expose my backside. Can you help me? ps… I wore a size 6 petite before I got sick. I had my surgery . I feel great now but cannot gain weight.

    1. I would definitely try some nicer brands that come in really small sizes, such as J Brand, Brown Label, and Rock and Republic. We get these in 23 and 24, which is much tinier than buying a 0 in another brand. They also come in mid-rises, which is helpful.

  49. I have never been able to find great jeans. I was in love with Lucky Easy Riders forever, then finally dropped some weight and loved 7’s & Paper, Cloth, Denim, and now that I was pregnant and regained some weight am back to square one. My waist is not the problem, it’s my thunder thighs and inability to find a proper rise that doesn’t leave lots of crotch fabric. I even ordered custom jeans that weren’t as custom as I liked but…ugh…I give up. Right now I have some curvy bootcut Levis that fit and that’s all I can hope for now….

  50. I am interested in becoming a rep. I have never heard of Vault but found your blog through pinterest. It sounds fabulous! I live in SW Florida. Thanks so much!

  51. I LOVE this blog!!!! I’m on a mission for non-Mom jeans. At 48 with a 6 year old I’m not in my best shape. I slipped into frumpy until I saw your post on Pinterest! Now I hope to find jeans that make me feel good about myself – and that I can still breath in!

  52. Found you on Pinterest. Would love to have a private fitting or host a party. Can you tell me if you have any reps in or around Overland Park, KS? Thanks!

  53. Loved reading you mom jeans post!!! I am SO interested in hosting one of these parties. Can you send me some contact information for someone in the North Dallas, Texas area who would be able to help me have one of these parties. Thanks!!!

  54. Hi! I’m located in Austin, TX. Do you know a rep in this area?
Also, I’m not interested in hosting a party, but would love to shop their jeans. Does it cost extra for a private fitting?

  55. I live in Cleveland Ohio, i would be interesting in attending a party or a private fitting do you know a consultant in my area?

  56. I live in Avondale, AZ . I would be interesting in attending a party or a private fitting do you know a consultant in my area?

  57. I have been really enjoying all your posts. I have great difficulty finding nice jeans that aren’t too expensive. I don’t have very many options to go and try jeans on since I live in Alaska. Your posts have inspired me to look in to ordering some jeans from Express. Would Vault denim happen to be up here?

      1. I live in Avondale, AZ . I would be interesting in attending a party or a private fitting do you know a consultant in my area?

    1. Unfortunately, I don’t see anyone in Lexington – only Louisville, Glasgow, and Paducah. Let me know if any of these are close enough!

  58. Just wondering if there is a Vault rep near Wheeling, WV (or Pittsburgh, PA is relatively close also). Thanks for all your great tips!
